A typical presidential tweet is causing more controversy these days than anything in a Kathryn Bigelow geopolitical thriller, so it's strange to think that when it came out, it generated a whole bunch of thoughts and even threats of Congressional investigation. The main accusation leveled against Bigelow - that she condoned the use of torture while describing the hunt for Osama bin Laden - is hardly supported by a deep, immemorial view of U.S. foreign policy. A smart thriller that doesn't skimp on pyrotechnics when the time comes, it's basically the Bourne Ultimatum for people who read The Atlantic

Orson Welles' tale of betrayal, lust, and murder, in which he stars as a naive Irish sailor alongside Rita Hayworth as a charming femme fatale, is filled with visual flourishes and hard-boiled highlights. As one of the great masters of cinema, it is not surprising that Wells has made crime films that have become so long-lasting. – Abby Bender.
There is a shootout in the hall of mirrors - a spectacular achievement of cinematic illusion and mise en scene. Only Wells could so confidently carry out this literal image reversal.
